Jamesburg Borough Council

Councilwoman Barbara Carpenter, 57, has lived in Jamesburg since 1983, after moving to New Jersey from Phoenix, Arizona. She has served on the council since 2001. Councilwoman Carpenter attended community college in Glendale, Arizona and Middlesex County Community College in Edison. She is an executive assistant at Monroe Village and a licensed real estate agent. Councilwoman Carpenter serves as a member of the Friends of the Jamesburg Public Library, the Jamesburg Civic Association, Jamesburg Patriotic Committee, and the Middlesex County Transportation Committee. Councilwoman Carpenter was integral in bringing the Dog Park to county-owned Thompson Park. She is married to her husband Ron, has three sons, and two grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys taking her dog on daily long walks, bike riding, and traveling with her husband.
